how we do it
The following are the three core values of Imago Dei Church that will help us carry out or vision and mission.
We want to approach God with a sincere heart of worship to know him and love him with our whole heart. Whether through word, song, or service we want to pour our lives out as living sacrifices to Jesus with grateful hearts trusting that as we draw near to him, he is drawing near to us. (Mt. 22:37; Mk 12:30; Lk 10:27; Deut. 6:4; Rom. 12:1; Jm. 4:8; Jer. 29:12-14)
We will teach, know, and live according to sound doctrine. We will know what kind of lives we are called to live. We will know and proclaim the gospel to the world around us. In order to do that we must be hearers and doers of the word of God revealed in the Bible. We will be firm where the Scriptures are clear and full of grace where things are less clear. (Acts 2:42; Titus 1:9, 2:1; 2 Tim. 4:2-4, 16; Mt. 28:16-20; Jude 1:3)
Biblical community is essential to the Christian life. Jesus commanded us to love one another and we will strive for unity and love. We will celebrate the diversity of the church and overcome our differences with love. We will make getting together simple and impactful. We will emphasize fellowship while also freeing up our schedules to build up our families, make disciples, and serve in our community. In our busy world we will slow down and emphasize maturing believers and making disciples. (Mt 28:18-20; Acts 2:42-47, 4:32; Jn 13:34, 15:12, 1 Jn 1:4)
